1. Write your goals down.

What behavior would you like to change? Track your actions, measure your progress, and reflect on what’s working/not working. This will help with motivation, understanding, and keeping yourself accountable. 

  1.  Share your goal with someone you trust.

These people will support and encourage you and the extra bit of external accountability is helpful especially on those days when you feel the least motivated.

  1. Have self-compassion.

The truth is, you’re going to mess up, especially if this is all new to you and/or outside of your comfort zone. But that’s okay because it’s all part of the process. Cut yourself some slack and accept yourself no matter what transpires. If you slip, allow yourself forgiveness and regroup.
