Feeling grateful and practicing gratitude isn’t always easy, especially when life throws us for a loop (insert almost the entire year of 2020). During these times, in our heart of hearts, we know that we SHOULD find SOMETHING to be grateful for in our life, but sometimes we can get so caught up in the tragedy of trauma that the silver-lining may be harder to see. 

But, the thing is, it IS still possible. When you want to get back to that headspace where you can feel gratitude, wholeheartedly, remember this: Gratitude thrives on specificity. If you can visualize at least one thing, one aspect of your life that you are grateful for, if you can see it clearly in your mind’s eye, then you can feel it.

Here’s an example⤵
Instead of thinking/saying to yourself: 

“I am grateful for my partner because he/she is thoughtful,” 

try thinking of a more specific example such as:

“I am grateful for my partner because he/she lets me sleep in and makes my coffee in my favorite mug”
